Am I eligible?
If you are a graduate of The University of Iowa or Wartburg College and took the CBMT exam between January 1st, 2025 and December 31st, 2025, you are eligible to apply.
You may only apply once, even if you took the exam multiple times in 2025.
How do I apply?

All we need is your name, email address, the name of the institution from which you graduated, and proof of payment for the CBMT exam. It should only take a few minutes!
How are scholarship winners selected?
Two winners will be selected by lottery. One name will be drawn from The University of Iowa, and one name from Wartburg College.

When do I apply?
Applications will be accepted through 11:59pm on Saturday January 31st, 2026.
When are scholarships awarded?
Scholarship winners will be announced on or before February 15th
The ICMT board will oversee the lottery process. Here are the steps we are taking to minimize any conflict of interest. Any board members affiliated with the music therapy programs at either Iowa institution will recuse themselves. Board members that identify that they have other personal ties to an applicant will also recuse themselves. If less than three of the ICMT board members are deemed eligible to oversee the lottery process by the above-mentioned criteria, a professional member(s) of the organization will be selected to join the committee overseeing the process. An online randomizer will be used to select the winning names.
